We’re pleased to confirm the successful completion of several parking stress surveys across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Each survey was carried out in full compliance with the Richmond Methodology, a rigorous standard set by the Council for assessing local parking capacity and potential impact from new developments.
All survey parameters including the 200m walking survey extent, and survey dates were agreed in advance with the Council’s Transport Planning team. In line with the methodology, each site was surveyed overnight on two weekdays (Monday–Thursday) and one Sunday, ensuring an accurate snapshot of peak residential parking demand.
Detailed inventory map and results plans were prepared, capturing legal bays, restrictions, and actual parking occupancy (including any illegal or constrained parking). This approach ensures a highly accurate parking stress calculation aligned with policy requirements.
The outcome for all sites confirmed that proposed developments would not lead to excessive parking stress on surrounding streets, supporting a positive planning trajectory.
